It was the only decent report I could find of last night's match in the national press:

Adam Boyd returns in style for Hartlepool as Coventry are toppled
• Adam Boyd's extra-time winner gives Hartlepool 1-0 victory
• Spurs away to Doncaster; Manchester City visit Crystal Palace

Adam Boyd marked his second debut for Hartlepool United with a winning goal in extra-time as the League One side won 1-0 at Coventry City to earn a home tie against Burnley.

Boyd, who rejoined Hartlepool from Leyton Orient in the summer, having scored 60 goals during his first spell at Victoria Park, lashed in a volley after 105 minutes to settle a lacklustre match against a weakened Coventry side whose manager, Chris Coleman, was forced to name five teenagers in his starting XI. A number of first-team players were away on international duty.

I'm sorry, but if they thought that match last night was lacklustre, then they wan't their heads felt. rage

That is the second time a match involoving Hartlepool when they have performed superbly has been described as "lacklustre".

The game last night might have been tight and cagey, but it was exactly like how we played on Saturday - we defended incredibly well.

All we need I think is a little bit of confidence and composure and we may well begin to dominate games.

The Guardian gave out a free football hand-out earlier in the week, in which Hartlepool featured in both the League 1 and League 2 sections. Apparently, in League 1 we can't expect much more than to survive; in League 2 we 'must be pleased to have got Behan from Cork'.

I'll take another 40-odd "lacklustre" games between now and May then. The standard of papers like the Grauniad's coverage of non-Prem footy is illustrated whenever Pools are at home to a "big" club in a cup game. You watch when Burnley come to the Vic ... you'll read more inaccurate, badly-written shite than is good for you.
