You know those energy saving light bulbs which are meant to last for years. If they stop working after 6 months would stores like b&q agree to a refund. We spent a fair wad on a number of these bulbs and they are meant to last 8 years. 2 of them have gone after 6 months.

Yes I am a tight bounder but its the principle!!!!!

Plenty of ours have stopped working in less than a year. I think it is all a big con but I bet you wouldn't get a refund.

They do when first turned on, they're OK once warmed up. The first 3 we bought are still going strong, at least 2 years on.

people who are visually impaired are warned not to use them on landings and staircases, because they do'nt give off enough light

It is probably because of the reason that Mr Billog has given above, they can take a little while to fully light up but it is not that long really, we have them all around the house and have had no problems with them a year or so later

Energy saving light bulbs are crap. They take minutes to give out full light.

Why should new light bulbs be that much worse than those invented a 100 yrs ago.
