Police in my neck of the woods Cambridgeshire stored DNA samples in a fridge near a half-eaten takeaway meal. This is utterly shocking and know they will get a bollocking for this by the forensic providers, not sure who has cambridge but would bet LGC or Orchid Cellmark.

Whats the point in having rigorous anti-contamination techniques in the labs, changing gloves every 2minutes wairing face masks eye gloggles and hair nets if the muppets in the police arnt doing their end of the bargin.

Things like this and the debate on the bombings in Northern Ireland give the forensic community a bad name when its not even their fault.
