How much do Pools players earn?

I was just thinking about this the other day and realised I have no idea.

Humps must be on a fair wedge based on the length of his time here and Austin was on a reportedly high wage at Darlo so I suspect we will have at least matched it.

I've no idea what Boydy's on as he could well have taken a drop to come home and be happy again.

We must have at least one or two 6-figure earners (and I don't mean the Director of Sport), yeah ?

I don't think we have any on £100,000 a week.

So much per week, that is how footballers wages are always expressed isn't it?

I've never understood why, most people have been on monthly salaries for decades.

Darren Knowles was the smallest Pools player to earn 500quid a week. FACT.

He was only on a basic of £150 per week, but he managed to wangle himself a '£350 a week hating Darlo bonus'.

Im pretty sure Brown will be on at least 2k a week. Monkhouse will probably be in that region too.

Mackay probably on at least that amount.

I am pretty sure I have no idea how much pools players earn.

I am even more sure none of you lot do.

But I am sure a few of you will slag off Russ Green and Chris Turner anyway. :roll:

MadJohn kindly posted a BBC article (i think) from a couple of year ago and the average league one player was on around £70k a year.

however that was 2 year ago and i'm led to believe that they have came down a little now so the £1200 Mr Bandage quoted seems about right.

I highly doubt many (if any) of our players will be on much more than £1500 a week.
