York are a poor team ????????? what do you base that on, they drew with Leeds , yes we should be beating them, but what do you base the statement that York are a poor team on?????? unless you had a laptop or logged on from a mobile the time of your post probably means you weren't there.

On the performance of our friendlies we may be lucky to finish in last place.

Hopefully though we'll just get the bad games out of our season before the season starts.

yawn1 yawn1 yawn1 Im pretty certain York will have been more "up" for the leeds game than against us. Leeds also managed a draw, we got beat 2-0 and had 0 or 1 shots on target according to reports.

I thought York played quite well to be honest. Their number 8 looked handy as did their ginger central defender. I'd happily have a few of their players at Hartlepool to be 100% honest.

does that not show how far we have 'fallen' so to speak, rather than how good they are

A bit of both. York will have a good season in the Conference imho and may get promoted.

already survival looks like it will be an achievement!!
I'm not very confident after four consecutive defeats, where by all accounts we have easily been second best in every game
They have to click soon or else MK could signal a heavy defeat to start the campaign

It may be for the best if we start off badly as IOR may finally get the message re CT. A good replacement may keep us up. CT wont.

Who would seriously want to take the job here? The Vic has a revolving door, Granted not as bad as the mags but not far off.

This is probably true but surely taking a gamble on anybody is better than sitting it out waiting for the inevitable to happen.

Still these results count for nothing but it does raise hopes if we're actually competing and winning against teams like York.

Chris TURNER + 15-Dec-2008 ---- 28 7 6 15 38 50 25 32.1
Danny WILSON 13-Jun-2006 15-Dec-2008 133 58 29 46 199 166 43.6 50.9
Paul STEPHENSON + 01-Feb-2006 13-Jun-2006 16 3 8 5 15 20 18.8 35.4
Martin SCOTT 04-May-2005 01-Feb-2006 39 11 10 18 42 55 28.2 36.8
Neale COOPER 26-Jun-2003 04-May-2005 110 48 26 36 180 147 43.6 51.5
Mike NEWELL 21-Nov-2002 30-May-2003 29 13 9 7 42 36 44.8 55.2
Colin WEST + 07-Nov-2002 21-Nov-2002 2 1 1 0 3 2 50 66.7
Chris TURNER 24-Feb-1999 07-Nov-2002 193 82 47 64 266 220 42.5 50.6

So, apart from the two caretaker managers, that SIX managers in a decade, hardly a revolving door, is it?

But surely all managers know this in the current climate whichever club they manage!?

Although not a fan of Turner, remember the big game bottler allegation in his first spell, I would not spend another salary on a new manager I would actually support Turner and give him the salary to sign a centre half maybe from Boro, Mackems, Mags reserves who is not slow or one of their 19 year olds on loan initially.

A 19 year old kid in the back four is just about the last thing we need, the defence hasn't been the same since Danny Wilson retired the only natural leader we had in Micky Barron.

York are a poor team ????????? what do you base that on, they drew with Leeds , yes we should be beating them, but what do you base the statement that York are a poor team on?????? unless you had a laptop or logged on from a mobile the time of your post probably means you weren't there.

No way are York a poor team,I think they will be much better than last season.

They are only friendlies, they are not important. After six games, its only early days , after 16 games, there is still two thirds of the season to go, we just need to put a run together, we have been unlucky with injuries, no one has really turned us over yet. At xmas, we need to do bette in the second half of the season, an automatic place is not out of reach. Mid Feb we need to get a run together if we are to make the play offs, March OMG we are in a relegation fight and we need to stick together if we are going to survive. HEARD THIS ALL BEFORE nothing ever changes at pools.
