This is my first post on here so I am expecting folks to be gentle!

I started this thread for the sake of communication with fellow Poolies. I reserve the right to have an opinion and the right to disagree with others. I defend the right of others to disagree with me (even though you will be wrong! Joke to those poised to attack!).

I have for my sins been on neversaydie and been savaged needlessly on there. I have visited this site many times and must admit it aint quite as savage but there are some folks out there well capable!!!

Any way my thread:

We need a left back and have done for at least 5 years I can remember.
We need a pucker centre half - there is noone to challenge or claim a full time slot
We need a central midfielder with experience who can hold, defend, distribute and tackle.
We still need a centre forward who is going to get us 20 goals - in my opinion we don't have that.

Most controversially of all we need the manager who can move us on to the next phase who can change things in a game, is aware of tactics and has a good track record. I am sure there are managers out there not yet employed, I have no suggestions, but maybe this board has???????

PS I am not impressed with pre-season at all. I would have expected a draw at least in Holland, at least a goal against the Wendies and a 4-0 win against York, or am I being too greedy (optimistic!)

I agree we need a left back, a centre half and a decent central midfielder.

As for a 20 goal striker, I believe Brown can score 20 goals. Boyd can score 15 depending on how hard he works.

The season hasn't started yet. Pre-season means nothing once the season starts.

ps, I agree with Mr gaunt that Brown could get 20 goals. He will need good service though and im not convinced we can give him it without the key midfielder you talk about.

This key midfielder, I've got a weird feeling Jon André Fredriksen may be that key midfielder. Just a hunch.

Hopefully, but im sure if he is to flourish he will need someone steady alongside him.

As the self-appointed grammar "parkie", I need to point out that the word is "pukka", as in the pies but with a small p.
