Appointed goalkeeper coach at Tranmere. didn't make many appearances for us around about half a dozen around 1988/89

Although at least all these fella's tried to play a bit, unlike Stephen Pears, who just drained money from the club for two years.

I concur. Probably the most worstest signing I have seen by Pools. It cant have been the same Stephen Pears who won so many accolades at Boro!!

Correct, as were Foggin, Spraggon, McMordie and Downing. Although Peter Creamer was a decent fullback imo.

Nonsense, Mcmordie and Downing performed well enough when they were playing and you totally fail to realise that the wages earned by these players were not that much above the average wage in the 70's, even when playing for their 'beloved' boro .... the reason for playing close to home is because they probably had a mortgage or rent to pay and like any other working man of the time couldn't just move about at will, so had to stay fairly close to home.
