dont know whether this is my local bookie (coral) being lazy but went in the other day to see the prices on the top goal scorers in League 1 next year, he said he couldnt find it on the system as prices probably werent out yet.

Was wondering what the prices were as was going to have a few quid on Boydy. Who does everyone else think will be top goal scorer this year?

It's never going to be a Poolie, tho, is it? We always have a good proportion of our goals scored by non-strikers. Remember the season recently when everyone in the first team had scored at least once, bar Dimi and Micky Barron?

Prices wont be out yet as they liek to wait till more signings completed etc.

Doubt any pools player will be up there to be honest. Beckford will obviously be one of the favs if he stays.

I'd save your money rather than putting it on Boydy personally. There are loads of better strikers playing for better teams who'll be getting better service.

If we maintain the style of play which saw us score so many last season and should he stay fit and receive the right service, especially if he is played as the focal point of the attack with Browny sitting a little deeper, then he has the potential to be amongst the top scorers in the division.

he is a better goal scorer than porter in my opinion. However he needs decent service like porter used to give him

I fully concur but do you think he'll be top scorer? I don't and I'm sure most people don't. He scored about a dozen last season and a few were penalties, he did miss a fair bit of the season but it would take an absolute huge improvement to see him get the 30 goals necessary to be top scorer in the Division. If not thinking he's going to top scorer makes me negative then so be it, personally I think it's realism.

Just for clarity, do penalties count?

Not certain on that. But whoever finishes top scorer in the division, will almost certainly be the penalty taker for his team.
