"Pools are looking to freshen things up on a matchday at The Vic and we want your help.

If you're a regular at Victoria Park and would like to see certain things changed for the 2009/10 campaign then get in touch and let us know.

While we cannot guarantee to follow every suggestion, we will be holding a meeting at the Club once all ideas are received to discuss the way forward.

After the strong response we received to the appeal we made for suggestions over Season Ticket sales, the Club are keen to again involve supporters in this move.

I've said it many times before but a Town Called Malice would be perfect as our goal celebration music:

Putting aside all preferences, if you want to wind the crowd up to twanging point and get them buzzing like fook when the team comes out, you could do far worse than that old chestnut "Sweet Child of Mine".

It's not a question of musical education it's one of animation.

Actually that would work great for when the teams are coming out, long as they waited for the right moment.
That would be so much better than usual cheesy pump up the volume shite...
(the starting lyrics wouldnt be particularly appropriate or inspiring though, but the massed ranks of poolies singing ( :uhoh: ) would drown that out okay

I think Pools are doing a lot of good with all of these ask the fans / meet the players, events. It shows that they are listening to us and showing at least they value our opinion.

whether they take it on board is another matter, do you this this was Turners idea.

If they can get the team to show a bit of passion, effort and guts for 90 minutes then they can play whateverthefuk music they like.

Now where are our new keeper and left back?

ALthough I agree about the music i dont think it's that they are mainly talking about. We need something to keep the fans amused at the game when the match is not on.... Remember the deckchair challenge, What about a crossbar challenge winning a car or something ( you can buy insurace for this incase someone does win the car), Other clubs always seem to have something on and cheerleader but not your dance school type... this type

I'd prefer it if they did something to keep the fans amused when the game IS on.

As long as they get rid of that god awful tune they play before kick off. I think they are trying to kind of copy what they do at the Stadium of Light but it just depresses everyone.

I've been waiting for them to ask this for ages. I can't see how they can't action any of this, here's what I sent them:

Thanks for appealing for our views of match days.

One reason I haven’t renewed my season ticket this year is that the whole ‘matchday experience’ had became very stale indeed.

Having the same build up music (which is either a very poor recording which was recorded with much too high a recording level or the speakers are poor) each match has become tiresome, as has the dance track ‘Get Ready 4 This’ for the run-out music – it was naff in 1993 let alone 16 years later! The build up music should change every few games and the run-out music should be something a lot more dynamic\fresh – something upbeat (think Foo Fighters, Kasabian).

The Tom Hark tune has got to go. It’s over-played in football in general, and has became clichéd as a result, but at the Vic we hear it far too much – we even had it after we’d just finished the match which sent us down a couple of seasons ago!

John Orley does a fine job as announcer but we need someone with a radio mike on the pitch whipping up the excitement, I’m sure someone like Goffy or a Radio Hartlepool presenter (good free publicity for the station) would be happy to do it.

Get more activities going on on the pitch, Crossbar Challenge, a 5 or 3-a-side match, bring back the Deckchair Challenge, keepy-up competition, showboat competition, accompanied by the person with the radio mike commentating on it and making it exciting. They could get each stand to make noise louder than each other, loudest stand gets some key rings\sweets thrown into the crowd, that kind of thing. All of these things don’t cost very little or nothing, though a small prize (signed ball, shirt, book) will help get participants.

Thanks again for listening to us, the fans and asking for opinions on these matters. They don’t seem very important but they are more influential on atmosphere and enthusiasm than most clubs believe.

I reckon a track called "get loose" which is on Kasabians new album would be good for the players to run out to.

Personally, I love 2 Unlimited, they are a great iconic Eurodance band from the nineties, and I have to say I like Tom Hark as well, but actually it's been so long since I've heard it played in celebration, I wouldn't say that I'd miss it.

Maybe we could find another "Tom Hark" that would be just as great if not better.

This might be a little cliche in itself but what about the theme song to "Pirates of the Carribean".

Also, we should do something to try and create a little bit more atmosphere at the games, because a half-empty ground full of people not getting really behind the lads, a la some moments last season, doesn't really help in my opinion.

Keep the music after goals gives a buzz around the ground.. and gives the players 15secs of not having to listen to the mill house moaners
