Does anyone read it. I have never seen it in a "normal" newsagents, the reason I ask is was at York University the other day and noticed it in the University shop while I was buying some cigarrettes. I have never read it and just assume its like the Viz for toffs.

I subscribe to Private Eye . It's a mixture of satirical cartoons & newspaper style articles and proper investigations & into business, media & political stories. It can be a bit 'high brow' with articles about architecture & things - but doesn't put me off.

Architecture! I just thought it was a magazine to provide a forum for Ian Hislop and his spitting image cronies to bang on about the government.

They are pretty scathing about Tories & Lib Dems, too - don't see it as purely an anti-labour magazine.

Depending on which party is in power, they have a main cartoon 'style' to analise the Prime Minister. At the moment Gordon Brown is portrayed as Stalinist (priministerial decrees, etc). When Tony Blair was PM, they used to portray him as a trendy vicar (weekly sermons, etc.).

You can get it easily enough, compo...even WHSmith stock it.

I've read it a few times. Its quite funny.

I subscribe to it... something to look forward to every fortnight.

I miss Private Eye, one of the few things that I do miss. I always ask anyone coming in from the UK to bring me the latest copy and I comb it from front to back. The crossword is the best you can find and you can print it off the website. Quality read I'd say.

Another subscriber here, my toilet time wouldn't be the same without it !!!!

Seems like loads of people enjoy the read might give it a go next time I am in the newsagents

One of the best things to read IMO. I'm thinking of subscribing as it's hard to find, even WHSmith in Leeds struggles to have it in stock, or at least visible

I always enjoy the 'Rotten Boroughs' page, it's amazing what goes on in some places.

I am sat at Newcastle Airport waiting to go to Belfast. I've just bought my first Private Eye. First impressions are quite good.
