all it was is i am from walsall but grew up in the north east and so follow pools! walsall recently hosted a series of games where youngsters who had been released from professional clubs go and play while being assesed from scouts and managers etc.. out of intrest i went along as i only live a few miles away from the ground and i noticed in one of the games a centre back joe tait who had been released from hartlepool and he looked outstanding!! he was playing against lads a similar age to himself but he stood out head and shoulders above the rest of them and i wonderd if he had played any games for the first team at all this year and why he was let go?

John is Matty Tymon back from the loan spell now and do you recon he will be a regular in the reserves this season

cheers mad john, just thought id ask the people of hartlepool what they htought of him as from what i seen he looked an outstanding player for just 18 years old

I'll second what Mad John says. I've only seen a couple of reserve games in recent seasons but he did look very good.

I always thought Carl Jones looked fairly good who was released a few seasons ago.

For defenders they looked pretty solid.

But it's always hard to say. Reserve level is much different from first team level. The staff see more of them than I do so what do I know?

I can't think of any youngsters who have been released that went onto be successful at another club but i'm sure someone on hear will prove me wrong :grin:

Tony Barrass springs to mind but 'successful' is a slight exaggation :laugh:
