Me and a mate cut holes in the pockets of our parkas, so if we were caught by security guards we could pull the pockets out, cover up the holes and show we didnt have anything. Whatever was nicked, usually a mars bar or whatever, went down to the inside of the bottom of the coat. It worked twice when caught.
I didnt nick much and nothing of great value.
The daftest thing was a pack of tarot cards. They were the right size at the right opportunity. I never used them. I never even wanted them.
From upstairs in a shop on York Road; not there anymore, cant remember what it was called.

as a kid, I only ever nicked useful stuff like sweets. As an adult, I've knicked the top orange globe off a belisha beacon, milk off someone's doorstep (useful that when I think about it), orange flashing roadworks lights, roadworks signs, a bus seat, and a cardboard cut-out lifesize John Smiths gadgy from a pub.

I tried to catch a chicken once on the way back from Burnley but it kept getting away as I was about to grasp it. My coordination probably won't have been the best, like
