Sick of watching this shit. I would pick:

R Bopara
P Mustard (wk)
G Napier
K Pietersen
O Shah
P Collingwood
E Morgan
D Mascarenhas
G Swann
S Broad
J Anderson

Why the fook is Foster playing? What does he bring to the team? And Napier deserves his chance FFS!

Beat that fooker!

Mustard can't buy a run in Twenty20 cricket for Durham his record since the domestic competition started is moderate at best. He hasn't really batted well in any form of one day cricket for a couple of years.

Foster is a superb keeper, Prior should be in the team as a batsman probably opening. The likes of Napier and Wright are flat track bullies who will never be international class batsman. You don't see South Africa or India picking people to bat in the top order who aren't international class in every other form of the game. We'd have been better sticking with someone like Ian Bell and give him a chance to develop a Twenty20 game, he has all the shots and is undoutably international class.

It's alright the likes of Napier whacking county trundlers at a small ground like Chelmsford, I'd like to see him do that to Dale Steyn or Zaheer Khan same goes for Luke Wright.

Here's my go;

Bopara
Prior
Pietersen
Bell
Collingwood
Wright
Mascarenhas (Flintoff when fit)
Foster
Swann
Broad
Anderson

It looks exciting to me....like....a bit like 'Everyman For Themselves 3 Pots & In'!!!! :coool: :coool:

Maybe but he's a better number three than Robert Key.

You can't expect a county number 8/9 (which Napier is) to be able to slog World class bowlers.

The best international twenty20 players aren't sloggers they have developed their games to suit the format. They are world class batsmen.

Too often England get sucked into this 'pinch hitter' bollocks.

I can't believe we've beaten India.

To reach the semis all we need to do is beat the West Indies tomorrow.

What could possibly go wrong?

They should play Tom Hark every time there's a wicket taken. That'd change your mind...............having said that, do they do that already ? sctatchinghead

On the contrary, you have to have either a fully fledged test match with everyone wearing white and taking exorbitant amounts time thereby allowing the spectators to get suitably pissed, or else a slogfest where you can have two games in a day.

40 over cricket is a pitiful compromise and is and always has been crap. Er, sorry, always has been shite.

Er, sorry, always has been totally pathetic.

It's not a switch hit, it's a reverse sweep.

Ian Botham was saying the other day why dont they hit the ball straight back towards the bowler more. If you hit the ball straight back it is obviously wider than when you try to sweep. That shot of Collingwoods was a terrible choice of shot...

80 runs was always going to be an easy target, with 10 wickets to play with. rage

A few things.

1. D/L doesnt work in in this form of the game.

2. They had flodlights. Why the fook didnt they play the full match. Just downright foookin stupidity.

3. Collingwood, and shah, and the rest of englands middle order are pussies. Wankers to a man, that clearly didnt understand the concept of the game. Cross shots all the time, when its fookin obvious to play a staright back and hit the ball hard. I think Collingwood is a stupid bounder. That'll upset you durham loving pusssies.

I don't think Collingwood is up to the job, either as batsman or captain. We were too reliant on Pietersen and Bopara...

The annoying thing for me is that it goes down as "W. Indies won by 5 wickets". How the fook can anyone in their right mind consider that to be a fair summary of the result of such a crippled game?

England should still have done better like, but if the roles had been reversed I suspect we would have won - though you never know, Collingwood would probably have instructed the batsmen to show caution.

Has anyone been watching on 'Empire Cricket' on BBC 2 late on a night? I only caught the West Indies and Australia ones but they were both really interesting, especially the Aussie one.

It can be found on BBC iplayer if anyone wants to catch up. Highly recommend.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/categories/sport/cricket/

ps- I don't buy this 'you can play for 5 days and it's still only a draw' theory. The test match in the Ashes at Old Trafford last time round was one of the most exciting games of sport I've ever seen.

As has been said wtf can they still have the luxury of ten thats TEN wickets on a game with only half the overs surely it would be fairer if the standing wickets reduced with number of overs ie 5 wickets for half a fookin match.(games below 10 ten overs) It would give the bowling team half a chance when this stupid rule operated. For the love of god last night the windies could afford to loose a wicket an over! ..sort it out MCC or go back to playing for five days and standing around a lot!
