Billingham Poolie & I are taking the lads to see Oasis at Heaton Park in Manchester, and wanted to go for Sunday lunch somewhere in the area before the gates open at 2:30pm. Does anyone out there in Poolieland have any suggestions of pubs etc, that do a decent Sunday lunch ?

Thanks

I'm going on the Saturday, we're steering clear of the Heaton Park area simply because of the numbers expected in the area. You'd probably best eating in the centre then getting a taxi up. As for suggestions I have no idea. Should be a great gig, Oasis, Kasabian and the Enemy for £50 is great value.

I'd rather go to the concert, but that would leave BP rattling around Manchester for hours on his own. The lads aren't too keen on the Enemy but are looking forward to seeing Kasabian (and of course Oasis)

The Champ is off to see Oasis at Stadium of Light and is off to Leeds Festival in August do you two kindly souls also want to provide transport for these two occasions?

Are you and Archie doing the paper round again then??!!

Ha! Sadly not and believe it or not... The Champ has now retired, but ocassionally tends to the war memorial weeding and planting etc bless him...in the words of Piers Morgan "and in a time where kids get a hard time and bad press"

There is a HUGE Beefeater very near Heaton Park. Don't know if you would class that as a good place for Sunday lunch. Also not sure if that road will even be open for traffic on Sunday due to the gig. When you come off the motorway and go right at the roundabout the entrance to Heaton Park is on the right. Go a very short distance further on and the Beefeater is on the left. Never been myself but apparently they do a good apple pie!

Depends which way you go in really Mrs Chrissie, but there's a million decent places dotted around the ouitskirts of Manchester on the South East side. Just stay away from Urmston etc or you'll get shot and robbed.
