But according to you in previous posts, the best man for the job is the current incumbent, make your mind up

Only if IOR decide not to replace Turner with a new manager.

If that was the case, then he is the best man for the job.

But my understanding is that there will be a new manager soon. If that was the case, Ian Holloway was certainly one of the frontrunners for the post.

Holloway was never going to come here in a million years, he's always going to get a role in the Championship

He would have been ideal for us - he's Championship class.

When we've hired new managers before in the close season, there have been no incoming transfers until the new manager was installed. You could infer from that there will be no new manager.

P.S., you might cite Nelson as an exception but I believe that deal was already wrapped up by Newell before we said bye bye to him.

Explain your understanding, that a new manager will be in place soon. Turner would be a new manager, he only caretaker, still, but you must be on about a new man completely, West doesn't count if Turner moves back upstairs and he gets it, as he would have been working alongside Turner with the recent signings.

Turner has brought in Boyd, McSweeney and arranged a talk in with himself and Boyd for next month. He has offered contracts to Monkhouse(signed) Nelson and Liddle, also signed Mackay on a 2 year deal, and offered Robson(refused) a new contract. He is quoted as saying targets have been approached. All that says , to me, he will be the incumbent, come kick off next season.

Of course he is. he is the ONLY man for the job if IOR decide not to replace him and move him back upstairs.

I wish you students would show a little bit of common sense before you speak
