Or so I just been informed is that Pools' will hold an evening with Joel Porter on Thursday 28th, in the centenary lounge. This will take the same format as the Ritchie Humphreys do, and be charged at £10 per head.

Don't shoot the messenger if my information wrong, as I pointed out previously it has been known to be.

I feel this it totally utterly pointless, we've had him on the radio, we've had him on pools world, a lot of lasses have had him after a nightout in hartlepool.

Let's move on eh.

It's like splitting up with someone, just end it with them and never see them again, if you break up with her yet keep seeing her everyday and dipping it in you'll never get over her.

But does it not make some income for Pools'. Ok not much say 100 people at £10 a go plus bar revenue on the evening, less expenses of pie and pea supper. So although I can vaguely understand your point, Pools do need to bring in some income and if they were to raise say a £1000 a week during close season, on do's like this then extra in bar income, as opposed to being closed, it may allow season ticket prices to be a little lower, just a thought.

I can't help but feel that this is all in such stark contrast to Eifion who wanted to stay with the club but was shown the door. I suppose we can hope that the club has learned to show a little more respect to its former players.

The Eifion Williams point is spot on. A real gent who did a lot of this club and the community.

Porter's not in the same league but he put his knob to good use in the community ... allegedly. :wink:

And do the club really need more fans' cash?

I agree about E.Williams* but I'd go to a night with Joel....and I'd pay treble that has been bandied about!!!! :coool:

He's been one of THE BEST Players that have ever played for Hartlepool United so I'd be over the moon to say my last Thanks to him!!!! :coool:

I have no problem with the idea of a night with Joel Porter. But when you announce you're leaving aren't you supposed to go? Is he waiting for a cheap deal on flights back to Oz? Shouldn't he be preparing for his new season with Silver Coast United, or whatever they are called?

Eifion was not offered a new contract cos he wasn't good enough, simple.
