Funny thing is, all the homosexuals I used to know (and you can imagine there are a lot of them in France) didn't give a toss about homophobes. They were more antipathetic to straight members of the opposite sex than to the no-thank-you members of their own. Gays and lesbians on the other hand got on like a house on fire.

I'm no anthropologist, mind. What do I know.

theres this homosexual chap in the Leg Iron who often does this flirty thing with me, I view him as harmless so allow him to indulge himself.

last night after Boro got beat, I wound them up by playing the only way is up / down down deeper and down etc on the jukey....one of the lads coated me in beer to get me back another one told the homosexual chap that i wanted a kiss!!

well, he approached me with his usual shite banter and then tried to kiss me!
I pushed him off as you would do, but then he tried again...
I swear to God I was *this* close to flattening him!!

I don't get the term "homophobia"

I'm not scared of them, just don't want to be inside them or vice versa

Phobia's yet another hi-jacked word (word fragment, rather) I'm afraid
Watch this doesn't turn into a good vs lousy English thread!

I partially disconcur that 'phobia' has been hi-jacked. How often is hate actually based on fear?

Come to think of it, fear is possibly why (if it's true) gay men 'hate' straight women. (And also, incidentally, why so many straight men also secretly hate women, even while spending a lifetime an hot pursuit of females.....)

Well grabes, when you put two partially-hijacked word fragments together, as in the case of homophobia, that do be as good as a full'n isn't it?

I've just been informed by someone who is due to attend The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia Conference taking place later this afternoon that the colours stand for......

red - light;
orange - healing;
yellow - sun;
green - calmness;
blue - art;
lilac - the spirit

What have those colours and their meanings have to do with homosexuality & being transgender? Are they suggesting that those attributes are symbolic of them?

I thought the idea of the rainbow was that it represents all shades/kinds of people... sctatchinghead

Were there any shirt-lifters on Rainbow? Bungle, yes. But I always thought Jane from Rod, Jane and Freddy would pull a train.

There is a gay queen on this board and if you give POK a kiss he will tell you who he is.
