Are in the Conference North play-off final at the International Stadium on Friday night. I'm going along to support them, seeing as how it looks like we're going to need some new local rivals soon!

Anyone else having a look?

Please tell me it doesn't clash with any other games. I already have to beg the local pub landlord even for 2nd division games.

I think I'll pop along. Apparently Jim hasn't been playing for them lately though..is he injured?

Who are they playing by the way?
And if it's the final how come it's not on a neutral ground?
And won't the GIS be a bit like the Don Valley or the Withdean?
Questions, questions!

OK, as far as I can gather, Paul Musselwhite has been playing for them up until this point, with Jim being brought in more for next season. The higher placed team gets home advantage in the finals of these shanty leagues, no neutral venues.

Anyway, I went along last night and enjoyed it. The teams were pretty good in the sense of skilful passing and no long balls...better entertainment than most League 2 in other words. Finishing was the weak point for both teams.

The entrance arrangements were a complete cock-up. At 7.45 when the match was due to start, there were still queues, 3 or 4 deep and many metres long, trying to get past what seemed to be only 2 turn-stiles. As if to illustrate the problem, at one point I saw a long anonymous wee emerge from the midst of the queue, some way ahead, and arc it's way into a patch of undergrowth.

You were looking at the wrong end of the wee. If you'd looked at the other end, you'd have solved the anonymity problem.

I certainly wasn't getting any closer, Mr S.
Was already getting some funny looks...there were FAR fewer women there than at Pools matches....so much so that it felt a bit weird.
