Shrewsbury beat Bury on penalties after beating them 1-0 in 90 minutes to draw the agg. score level at 1-1.

Looks like Bury just threw away not only that play-off semu final, by not putting their chances away, but they also seemed to throw away that automatic promotion place they had earlier on in the season.

It's the first time in a long time a side who's finished top of the play-off teams has never gone through to Wembley.

I'd say their isn't any 'looks like' or 'seems' about it seen as they've just been beaten in the play offs!!

I thought the qulaity of the game was pretty poor to be honest, people have talked about Andy Bishop on that evidence I wouldn't fancy him at Pools. League One quality strikers would have put 5 or 6 past Shrewsbury, Bury's finishing was awful. Not sure what Rochdale or Gillingham are like but I didn't see anything to worry about next season in that game. If the likes of Grant Holt and Bishop are scoring a lot of goals I think it speaks volumes about the quality of the division.

I went to watch the Rochdale vs. Gillingham game at a local Club only 10 minutes from me bcause I don't have Sky Digital. To be honest, the first half was too tight because both teams had too much to lose. It opened up in the second half for Gillingham and if you thin of how Rohdale played against Darlo live on Sky before the end of the season, that's how they played here. Every chance Rochdale had, they skyed over the bar like the Darlo game.

The Gills have sold 7,000 tickets for the 2nd leg tonight, but I have to say there isn't exactly play-off fever around the town yet - that will probably come on the day they get to Wembley. Gillingham shoud really beat Rochdale at home with that crowd behind them and get to Wembley for the 3rd time in 10 years, the first time at the new Wembley.

But, these are the play offs ! As we are all too aware, they are unpredictible !!!

As well as the Shrews young keeper played, his gamesmanship during the penalty shootout was getting right on my tits. He was keeping hold of the ball to make sure the Bury player had to come to him, and then dropping the ball anyway. He was also standing right by the penalty spot every time and asking the ref if the ball was correctly placed. The ref should have taken more control.

Totally agree.
The best team out of the four was Gillingham by some way. But if Bury had had strikers it would have been them.
