With Darlow looking like theyll fold, ive heard that Chester will stay in the league, does this then mean that the Blue Square Playoffs will therefor be null and void? as the winner wont be coming into the league? anyone else think that is a bit harsh? With obviously Burton coming up to replace Luton.

But also Chester are contemplating administration, so will they stay in the league? will their points be taken off this season or next?

this is far too confusing sctatchinghead

Well yeh, so going down wud be Luton, and Darlow (technically), so going up would be Burton, and staying up Chester. therefore the playoffs mean nothing?

if darlo go bust and chester stay in the league to replace darlo, you still need someone to replace chesters spot as there will still only be 23 places? so the conference playoff winner still goes up to take the empty spot or have i got it all horribly wrong? it made so much more sense in my head

well in my head, darlo are going down, luton are going down, burton coming up, chester staying up, so 2 teams change places, so to me the playoffs account for nothing. but the confrence will be a team down as darlo wont be going into the conference. or am i going wrong sctatchinghead

its simple darlo take chesters place so down are 1) darlo and 2) luton

burton have come up 1) therefore another team from the playoffs will be the second 2)

you are confusing the issue by saying chester are staying up and giving them a "promotion" place, if you get that out your head you will be ok

Yeah, two go out, Luton and Darlo, and two come in, Burton and the play off winners. If Darlo go out of business they'll just move everyone one place up the pyramid.

Something along the lines of?

But Chester are just staying up so we still need 2 teams to come up to make it 24 teams. stpid stpid

If Darlo do drop out of the league, there's no way Chester should stay up. The two Conference play-off finalists should come up.

The only thing I can compare this to is when Swindon were 'relegated' for financial reasons, the Mackems took their place and were promoted.

Almost goes back to JDF's original post. If the 2 play off finalists are promoted there is no point in playing the final.
