30 years ago today, Margaret Thatcher became the UK's first female Prime Minister, with these immortal words:

"Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope."

I hope 'Pools heed these words as we begin to look forward to a new season.

Incidentially, 12 years ago on Saturday, Tony Blair and Labour came into power with their camapaign song "Things Can Only Get Better".

Compared to the man we have currently occupying Number 10 at the meoment, there are probably some who wish Blair was still PM. :laugh:
