I have to keep pointing this out don't I.
If there are several clubs interested in a player it doesn't matter if his contract's nearly up or not. The one with the best offer will get him. If they wait till he's out of contract they run the risk of someone else snapping him up. Pools might have agreed terms with Hibs a while ago.

Having said that I don't really believe anyone has bid nearly 200 grand but you never know. They might only have seen his good games and you can't deny there have been a few.

We took a years option on him last summer, he is out of contract as of the last day in June.

So he is still in contract, because it is May 4th

Indeed he is, but he is free to sign for whoever he wants on a FREE because he has less than six months left on his current contract. That means that Pools cannot command a fee for this player

He might not want to walk away on a free. He might want a new contract at Pools. Or he might actually want to ensure Pools get something if he leaves, which would be no skin off his nose.

Mind you, if he's still with that agent who stirred the shit last time then anything could happen. Come to think of it the 175K is probably his agent's fee.

I dont know about Boyd being out of contract, but if he is he can't discuss terms for a bosman type move with clubs in the same country as Orient.
As Hibs are in a different country they can sign agreements with players 6 months before their contract expires I believe.

I think a lot of folk are missing one crucial factor with Nelse and his poor performances, and it's something that can be easily sorted to get him back to his best. . . . . OFF WITH HIS HAIR!!!

It all started going wrong when he turned up one season without his shiney napper!
