Well, on the bright side - we're still a League One side albeit by the skin of our teeth.

So, next season, where do we need to go to push the club forward? This league gets harder each year, and the fact that the 3 teams coming down from the Championship have all played in the PL in recent seasons makes it even harder for us.

It's easy to look to the management team and point fingers, but given the noises coming from Turner and the fact that West [allegedly] turned down a management job to come here, I can't see changes there.

As for the players, I think it's time for a bit of an overhaul, and I'm sure that everyone will agree on this. The main issue that concerns me is whether IOR are willing to pump in the money required to replace the potentially high number of players leaving through the summer. With the gates being drastically down on past seasons, and the ongoing saga over the ground purchase, will IOR go for broke and invest with potentially crippling consequences should it go tits up, or will they only back the management in signing players of an equal or lower standard than what we currently have?

It will also be interesting to see what strategy IOR use in terms of season ticket and match ticket prices.

i think first and foremost they need to sit down and decide who to release and who to re-sign, see who wants to be here and who doesn't.

Then THE most important thing is to get a squad together that has balance. the fact that we struggled defensively this season is no doubt down to the fact we only had 3 defenders at the club for most of the season all of which were centre backs.

we need 2 keepers, 8 defenders, 8 midfielders & 4 strikers, round pegs for round holes. One or two of these players may be youngsters but we HAVE to had a solid base of 16-18 players capable of playing week in, week out at this level.

If you look at the quality of our potential strike force next season, our four players could easily be Lange, Brown, Boyd & Nardiello (wishful thinking). That for me is a strikeforce capable of scoring enough to be in the top 6 at the very least. If we can sign that type of quality throughout the rest of the team then we could be looking at an exciting season next season.

All depends on the finances though....

Not a "bit" of an overhaul - this team needs some major surgery.
