Or was it nailed on he wanted away.

Bearing in mind what has been said about his goals and what it will cost to replace him,COULD we have kept hold of him.

If so how. sctatchinghead

The Joel and uncle Ken love in at the end did for me as they cuddled. I just wondered if we really have wanted him to stay or indeed done anything to keep him

Nobody knows apart from Pools & Joel. For all we know, Turner could have turned around months and said heres 5000 quid a week, 3 year contract.....and Joel might have said no.

It has been nailed on all season since we took out the extra year option on his contract. Joel had made his mind up to go home. So for me there was nothing we could do

I can't believe anyone would want to swap life in Hartlepool for life in Sydney. He must be bonkers this Joel bloke.

think you hit the nail on the head there, Pools were never going to offer him a three year deal really were they, and i for one would have wanted to bring my kids up in a place like the gold coast so he has jumped at the offer from them really and i dont blame him too.

And good old Gordon Brown would of took 45% of his wages straight away, the robbing fooker.

oh, and this bollox about a lifestyle choice is just further spin, from turner the master of spin, to deflect attention away from bad managemant by pools.

im sure Porter said it was about lifestyle choice in the programme yesterday? he said he had a nephew he'd never seen before too? might be wrong like but i think he said sumthing along those lines and that he wanted to come back to pools some time as either a player or manager

I doubt we would of paid him £2884.6153846153846153846153846154 PW

And even then it's only after he earns more then £2884.6153846153846153846153846154 he will get taxed a 50%

I did wonder about the lifesyle thingy and what Hartlepool has to offer against the gold coast wonders.

We have the fish sands, the not so new anymore marina bay,the pull of church st,our fantastic shopping center, and stuff the golden sands of oz we have crimdon beach just up the road. rolf

So yes I agree with chip it's just a load of spin on the clubs part all this talk of lifesyle. bbolt

Of course we wouldn't. In general we're not gay. Not even Chip.

The lifestyle is a little better on the Gold Coast. Me, the missus and the lad popped up there in February for a few days to get away from the rain in Sydney. There are so many very long white beaches with names like Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise and not forgetting a little further North, Byron Bay. On top of that there are great bars and restaurants which cater for the great outdoor living there. Can't fault it!
