The mrs was watching Paul O Grady yesterday when I got in from work and they played 3 songs to be released this Xmas. One was the bastad annoying Crazy Frog another was called Chicken Noodle Soup and the 3rd the bloke didn't even sing he just made a noise. All were absolute shit.

On the Phil Spector Xmas album which is one hell of a Christmas party record.
At the opposite end of the scale the Boney M Xmas album is totally soporific.

Worst song on that list by miles: Whitney Houston. Kevin Costner has this thing about bad songs (Robin Hood anyone?)

Cant remember what year it was but someone or some band had the nerve to keep the Pogues out the top slot with Fairytale of New York.
My best Christmas song ever.
Might have been band aid.
As for the rest well there's not a great deal of competition so I suppose it has to be Slade, though I dont know the early ones and I'm sure some of them are far better than the last twenty years of dross
