Okay, not one for you purists but this always reminds me of promotion 90/91

That song brings a tear to my eye. Can still picture sitting in my seat with head in my hands knowing if he scores this penalty then its all over.

The Hymn.... "In Bread We Bring You Lord"

Always reminds me of Pools we sang at Church,
then I pray Pools will avoid relegation/be promoted/get a good cup draw.

The bread we offer you is blessed and broken,
And it becomes for us our spirit’s food.
Over the cup we bring, your Word is spoken;
Make it your gift to us, your healing blood.
Take all that daily toil, plants in our heart’s poor soil,
Take all we start and spoil, each hopeful dream.
The chances we have missed, the graces we resist,
Lord, in thy Eucharist, take and redeem

The Everett Street poolies would march down Hart Lane singing this all the way to the game then brick each other on the tips.

The Drifters - You're More Than A Number In My Little Red Book. From the aforementioned mix tape that must have ran concurrently for around 20 seasons (I reckon).

The Waterboys - Whole of the Moon
Roxette - Join the Joyride

Just cos they remind me of the first time I went to Pools!

Good topic by the way! clappp

The Road To Hell - Chris Rea

It was playing as we boarded the coach to travel to our "not a cat in hell's chance" match at Stoke in 93.

And what a day that was, almost as good as pissing on Carlisle Utds chips back in the 94/95 season

Steve Holmes was immense that day at centre half - we got pissed on there was no cover at all - we tried standing behind an advertising hoarding on the floodlights but it was no good.

I've got a photo of the entire Away support that day Mick, there are several Bunkerites on it, 47 Pools fans in total. Pissing wet through, all huddled under the floodlight pylon!

get it posted we were stood in the toilet entrance until kick off trying to get a warm off a pie

Unless my memory is playing tricks on me, I am pretty sure Pools went through a period of constantly playing (I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone by the Sex Pistols. sctatchinghead

Nah, it was 'Eton Rifles' by the Clash, of which 'Baggy Trousers' is my fave Joe Thrummer tune

Went down to Sheffield for the league cup match (early 90s?) in a huge courtesy car. Stopped at an offy in Leeds for refuelling and then bust the speakers listening to Sonic Youth's excellent cover of Ca Plane Pour Moi very loud- always makes me smile. I think Gighapoolie, the legendary ID Stroyer and my future wife were in the back seat.

Also Sex On The Beach being played at half time at that night match at Carlisle when it was -4 at kick off.

No. I did ask him when I saw him in his kilt but he said no. violin

On the rebound I asked the woman who was sat next to him on the trip to Sheffield.
