they take the pound every time. On a separate note buy yourself some of their anti-squits tablets when you get there in readiness for when the inevitable happens. Ours won't even touch it, and by gum you will get the f-uckers!!!

If you do get any of the egyptian pounds make sure you wash your hands after handling. Some of there notes are more like cloth and thats where a lot of the bugs can come from.

Full of scruffy beggers and filthy as fuck.

Just try not to touch anything, eat anything or go too near anyone.

Apart from that, enjoy.

I've just come back 2 weeks ago, its brilliant, you don't see much of the real Egypt though, the 2 hotels we were using were the cleanest places I've ever been.
The people are superb, take English money especially Pound coins, tip your first few waiters early, like the 1st time they serve you (2 or 3 Pound coins) and you'll never have to get off your backside for a drink for the rest of your stay, then give them a proper tip before you leave.
We never had any stomach problems but did get advised not to eat too much salad stuff (no great hardship for me , obviously), . The food (in our Hotel anyway) was lush, Asian, Oriental, African and Turkish influences in a massive variety on offer.
If you venture out to the main strip in Namma Bay thats where you'll get the hassle but it's still not that bad, a polite and smiley 'no thanks' usually does the trick, or mention the credit crunch, apparently they are sick of hearing it and it more or less tells them you have no spare money !
Be careful with the sun, there's usually a bit of a breeze til early afternoon and you don't realise just how hot that DESERT sun was.
Like I said, you don't see much of the 'real' Egypt, but, if you just want to chill out and be spoilt for a week, its ideal.
If you need a taxi from the hotel, ask one of the security guards, they'll get you one of their 'pals' who'll give you a return price and won't take money off you til he gets you back.
Enjoy.

Yep, I've been 3 times, Hurghada, Sharm-el-Sheikh and Taba Heights. I only got the shits the first time I went, but by Christ it was a like a pressure hose. :uhoh:

Aye take some cash, you never know what is 'included' in an all inclusive.
