As it stands 4th bottom could potentially finish with 61 points
We are currently on 43 points
To be mathematically safe we need 19 points with only 18 left to play for.

Northampton - 64
Carlisle - 61
---------------------------------
Crewe - 61
Brighton - 60
Hereford - 57
Cheltenham - 52

Looking through the fixture I reckon we must beat Hereford & at least avoid defeat at Crewe & Yeovil.
Those 3 fixtures against fellow strugglers are (in my opinion) the fixtures that will keep us up

completely agree.

its going to be nail biting, but our season starts now and the next few games will decide it. i think we can beat hereford & yeovil and hopefully nick at least a point off crewe, that should see us safe.

lets all forget what has happened this season, and give the squad (and the management) our full support. they need us on side if they are going to have any real chance of staying up. Lets save the doom and gloom for the end of the season, if needed.

you never know, a win against Hereford might just set us up for a 3 or 4 game unbeaten run. Lets be that 12th man for them.

also when you look at the run ins the likes of Crewe, Carlisle, Northampton, Brighton & Yeovil have, half of them will be lucky to pick up more than 6 points.

Couldn't agree more with you.

There are now 6 teams below us.
I would have preferred Northampton to win tonight & keep Yeovil below as we still have them to play.
The way I see it the biggest game of our remaining 6 is now Crewe.

it's between us and Carlisle I think, if we don't win on Saturday - in which case it will be us anyway.
I will need an injection if we don't win on Saturday to stop me from wanting to kill some c-unt

Northampton's goal difference could well be worth a point.

That said, it might not be bad thing that Yeovil were the victors tonight.

Nope,tonights result is bad.
We can stay above Yeovil if it comes to goal difference, but not Northampton.

this is our fourth relegation battle in this division - we only ever won one in 92/93. We were in the bottom four for one game only that season, and managed to scramble clear eventually. My belief is if we fall into it at all, we won't be getting back out of it.
I hope we get a big win on Sat, and Carlisle get a dicking at Leicester. We could have a 3 point gap plus a big goal diff advantage over them come Sat night.

Still, there are some tough games for the teams below us at the weekend, plus Swindon play Crewe and Cheltenham play Orient. I was looking at it from the point that it would be better not to have a team above us with both superior points and goal difference, if we are to overtake them.

One more good result tonight Bristol Rovers lost, if they won they had a possible surge on for the play offs. Now it looks beyond them, and that can only help us on the last day of the season.

They're playing Northampton on Good Friday, though. Would have been nice for their play-off dreams to last just beyond Easter weekend!
