if Darlo win their game in hand they will be only 4 points from the play offs with 6 games to go.
That's a team that's pulling together under difficult circumstances. Hands up anyone who would have Dave Penney as boss? I would without a doubt.

It's not that simple though is it?

Chesterfield have two games in hand, if they won them both they would be on 64 points and push Exeter down to the last play off place, Exeter have the same 'game in hand' that Darlington have, if they won that they would push Chesterfield back down to the final play off place, and Chesterfield would be 8 points ahead of Darlington.

What is incredible is that George Houghton couldn't find the money to keep them going until the end of the season, but dropping Darlington into administration he's surely shot himself in the foot, if they hadn't had the 10 point deduction they would be two points from an automatic spot with a game in hand of all the top three teams, crowds would have been higher, income would have been greater, promotion a real possibility. Then they would have been a more viable proposition for potential investors, a big stadium which could give as many tickets as away teams wanted, Leeds, Huddersfield, Carlisle etc.

It does seem however that the 'Loids seem to have a winning mentality

We don't. the past twenty or so matches have shown that

Houghton has just put another £150,000 into the club he no longer owns just to keep them going. They would probably have lost him more than that by the end of the season anyway. Regarding the attendances going up, it wasn't long ago they got around the 2000 mark was it? I can't see them breaking even if the figure of 6000 required to cover costs are true.
If they go promoted they would be in the same boat, having to pay higher wages for players but crowds not covering them. Two George's have well and truly fooked that club, shame as I always enjoyed the excitement of a derby game, especially that game at their lovely new echo arena.

...should darlo still have a club. Can you see a new buyer coming in? Unless Houghton rebuys them I can't and thats surely unlikely.

Besides there's still a clear gap of 1 point between us and relegation and numerous teams in the same battle we are. While we're not getting results the team certainly seem to be playing a lot better and I'm personally still hoping we can stay up.

Not being funny or sarcastic like but with you only winning one game a month don't you think you would be more suited "suits you sir" and all to league-2
