He did ok imo. He is certainly more of a right back than midfielder.

I must hold my hands up and say that I was susprised how well Sweeney did in midfield. I have been saying all season that he looks a natural right back (he has been my player of the season tbh even in that position) but yesterday showed what we have been missing. If only CT would move liddle to left back albeit temporarily.

Agree with that, he did ok. What annoys me so much about yesterday was the whole defence looked comfortable for 60 mins. They played as a unit. Sweeney was excellent and the first time in a while he has done that from midfield.

Liddle did ok, but can he do it week in week out , as with Sweeney probably not. I have said this before and surprised Turner hasnt tried it, Nelson at right back and sign a new centre half, he wouldnt be as much of a liability and would be useful bombing down the flank as he can take people on. Sweeney proved he can score from midfield 4 seasons ago. so was not surprised to see him score yesterday, remember he scored at Millwall last year from midfield , cant see him doing it reguarly though. The worrying thing is how many midfielders are we going to try out in defence, Mcunnie, humph, robson, liddle, clark, sweeney, maybe therein lies the problem. I can understand if these players were 35 years old but they are in their prime and they are shifting from the front to the back of the team, surely this proves they are not good enough for this division.

While I agree that nelson is not bad at taking players on, there is no way he could play right back imo. He is too easily turned and not agile enough. Him on the right and Ritchie on the left is the stuff of nightmares! Any side we come up against with 2 half decent wingers would murder us!!

I'm not in the slightest surprised that no manager has tried it, as it is a fkin stupid idea that only a half-witted coal muncher whose DNA is half chimpanzee and half Yorkshire terrier would even suggest.

Liddle is better at right back out of the way of the firing line. In midfield we need someone with a bit of nastiness, step forward Richie Wellens, not someone with the heart of a dormouse. :coool:
