The article said that it would be difficult for a fully extended Canadarm2 to put the power unit in place due to its weight

Surely in space its weightless? = or am I wrong?

They meant massive payload, not heavy payload. It's a common mistake. The doo-dah might be weightless but it still has a high mass and therefore its inertia makes it clumsy to move around.
Imagine Le Clemenceau, which being buoyed by the sea is in a lot of respects weightless. You still wouldn't push it around with your little finger.
