The attendance today was absolutely pathetic. The stay aways should be ashamed of themselves. Today tells me that we won't survive for much longer.

Just before the match in the Mill House we were having a discussion and the question was asked "Would You Be Happy If Darlo Went Bust?"...

It was split 50-50 but one lad came out with "If they get less than 5000 today then they DESERVE to go bust". I thought to myself that there would be at least 6-7000 there today. 2950 is pathetic.

They'refucked.

I think "deserve" is a bit unfair. We have a hardcore of around 2,500 supporters, which always turn out, with any extra being a bonus. We simply don't have that many people that care about the club in the Town.

The only people I think that would ridicule the size of your Stadium, and brag about ours clearly have a screw loose. It's that thing that is costing us money.

I listened to a bit of Radio Boro on the way to Pools today and Dave Penney doesn't seem confident about things at all. He certainly wasn't impressed with the crowd the other night. He was also saying the transfer window isn't helping things either because at least they could sell some of their 'better' players who are taking up the wage bill.

Darlo seem to of spent a lot of money over the past couple of seasons - they always seemed to be signing players on loan, why didn't this 60% salary rule kick in? But what i really can't understand is all the panic that they have had to get promotion. Why haven't they developed their youth team rather than continuously signing players on loan?

You kind of get the impression that Darlo are gonna be flirting with administration for years to come and that they are always going to struggle to make things work at their 'new home' without serious cash injection from some sort of sugar daddy.

The previous two owners have both been too quick to get results. What we need is to build from the bottom as you say. Get oursevles secure first, and not just throw money at the team and hope it works.

Unfortunately the stadium has been the death of Darlington football club. People may mock at the attendances but when they were at feethams their attendances if my memory serves me right were always higher than those at the vic.
Does anyone think if we were in the same situation the people of this town would come out and support us by attending, I doubt it, in fact I know for a fact they wouldn't because i'm sure we've been in this boat many times before.

So it's fair to say we've had a higher cumulative average attendance for the last 60 years or so!!

I am also a big fan of graphs.

More graphs in future please.

I'm going to knock up a graph of trophies won, but there will be only one line on it.

Not being funny here, it is not tidy but heavily subsidised as you well know - and is therefore is not a blueprint for other lower league clubs, including Darlo, to follow.

Fill yer boots.

Will you be including the Conference trophy?

Maybe going bust and reforming in the non-league is where you belong?

To be honest you'd probably get more coverage on Radio Cleveland if you were in the Northern League than either of us get now.

On another note, we are completely fucked in my opinion and will be the first league club for nearly 2 decades to go bust. If by some miracle we don't, then somebody else will soon.

I think the town has turned its back on the club in the last year or so, for various reasons.

It looks like you could indeed by screwed.

One of the "various reasons" that you allude to may well be the fact that George I screwed so many local businesses that the club is now reaping what was sowed and being left to sink in its (latest) hour of need.

I think GR could be part of the reason.

Lots of other reasons - some people perhaps realise that the club is never going anywhere in its present form so have lost interest, credit crunch, I also believe that we lost a good few hundred fans when "yah nah Ray" got sacked.

I'm not that bothered to be honest, or at least not as bothered as I maybe would be, but thanks to my mate Elvis pointing out the obvious "that stadium will be the death of them" I was well prepared.

It matters not how big or little my club is in 100 years or whether it even exists, because one thing that will always be with me until I die is this comforting thought "at least I'm not from phuqing Hartlepool". Fcuknut.
