Less than 3000 pools fans there tonight. I wonder how long IOR will continue to pump money into the club when the fans cant be arsed to support us.

why do people always post these type messages? they serve no purpose but to try and de-stabilise everything. IOR are here, no one knows why, they arent going to suddenly up sticks and disappear. they were happy to pump in a million a season 6, 7, 8 year ago so now is no different

Plus it's not just us who've suffered this season crowd wise, look at Oldham's gates who are in the promotion mix up (and it's a far bigger place) they are getting similar gates to us at times.

IOR understand the current economic position of the fans, Hodcroft has said so. Chris Turner has alo stated that the club made mistakes by not investing in the team, to pull the fans in.

Turner has already made potentially exciting signings.

remember we have had two years of dull management, and that has lost us some fans. They need convincing to return.

But they will.

3,000 is now considered a terrible crowd for Pools. It's probably the bottom line these days.
10 years ago it would have been the highest gate of the season

Turner has also stated that they will be looking at the Scandanavian market as their players are better value for money, and that they already have a substantial list (over 20 names i believe) of players that would improve our squad. These are players currently playing in the Norweigen top division (a la Lange & Jan Ove Pedersen)

Destabalising sctatchinghead Thats a bit over the top. Its a fact our crowds are the 2nd worst in the league especially considering the size of the town.

Stockport area has a population of 300,000, not to mention North Cheshire.

They get similar crowds to us, the percentage of the town's population in comparison to the home crowds, and compared to some places, we're not doing too badly.
Colchester have built a new ground but a couple of their recent crowds have been around 3,500

When footballers stop getting paid ridiculous amounts of money then it might become more affordable to the working man again to attend every home match.
It's a fac t of life a lot of fans only attend the number of games they can afford to go to.

PS I'm not making excuses for plastic premiershit fans who never go to Pools, they are wa-nkers who should crawl away and die

Pools are wasting their time with those people, they'll never come.
The club has to aim at the younger generations all the time, and over the past 10 years it's worked quite well.
I know a lot of lads and lasses who've grown up supporting Pools - in turn their kids will do likewise

I fully disconcur. They should get in the car and drive away to die in the stadium of the club they "support" (if they know where to find it).

Hartlepool is one the smallest towns in this league. The only comparable conurbations I can think of are Scunthorpe - they're on 5000 much the same as we were in their position - and Crewe/Nantwich, who just have the edge over us in attendances.

Towns like Carlisle, Yeovil, and Hereford are smaller but they've got whacking great catchment areas all to themselves, and anyway Hereford's crowds are worse than ours.

It's clubs from big conurbations like Walsall, Northampton, or Leyton who should be moaning the most. I'm not saying our crowds are great because obviously we can do a lot better. But I think we've made a start with the change of regime and the obvious ambition in the signings we've made recently.
