Right, I just browsed your forum quickly to see a few views from last nights game, and thought I'd register and clear a few things up.

Firstly - Can I just apologise for some of the arrogant chants from us, "whats it like to see a crowd" "we'll never play you again" "shall we sing a sng for you," was unlike us, we've held most clubs with the highest respect all season but I was a tad embarrased with those songs. without being biased I thought our support was reasonable, (we didn't really stop singing but maybe didn't come across as loud to you lot, particularly down the other end) and numbers not too bad cosidering the distance and financial state of many. But there wasn't much space in our end, most fans just stood in the aisles, not sure if the people who paid on the gate were counted but I'm sure there was more than 700 of us.

This was my 2nd visit to your ground and I have to say it was brilliant both times, excellent character and a real ground unlike our plastic bowl!!Your stewards were fantastic, let us all stand which we do at every away game without any hassle. We've had problems at Leeds and Huddersfield and both turned a bit violent but yours were fine.

I could see all your fans clapping and jumping around oppsite us but really couldn't hear you that well

Onto the game: Neither penalties were in my opnion. I was stood right in front of both and I'm sure there was no contact on Porter, I never like to ridicule players for diving so I'll give him the benefit but it was a soft decision.
Ours was very dubious too, our player Berner played the ball past your keeper and whilst there was contact he was never reaching it and I assumed the ref would give a goal kick.

Was very impressed with you, massive improvemet from the JPT game which I suppose did flatter us but you got in our faces and I was happy to escape with a point. monkhouse and Porter the stand out players for me.
I don't blame you for being disappointed with us as a team, but our main attribute is consistancy and grinding out results, we've rarely turned it on in recent months (Walsall and Orient excl.) but we're still getting the wins.

Like the praise for Howard, he's been our main man for the most part, Fryatt's goals have been vital yes, but Big Steve's been the man who's centred all our play and without him i doubt Fryatt would have 1/4 of his tally.

I hope you don't hold us in the same light as Leeds/Forest as some mentioned, the arrogance is represented by a tiny minority of our support and i's mostly just tongue in cheek, banter stuff. Many of our fans feet have been firmly on the ground all season and with what is now a 10? point lead and even more to 3rd I don't think anyone would bugrudge us feeling a bit smugg.

Obviously I'm hoping we hold it together and secure promotion but I will certainly miss this league, the grounds like yours with real character, proper fans and excellent pricing. Instead it looks like we'll be back up playing in bowls identical to ours at Cov, Soton, Reading etc.

This season has been a real Joy for the majority of our support and personally I've loved every minute, and it's been a real pleasure to share a league with different clubs after spending most our years at the top levels.

Best of luck to you, you're all a real credit to football. I'm sure you'll all be welcome on our forum anytime.

Our penalty was defintley iffy. Porter does sometimes go down easily but with contact. After first glance at the replay I thought he'd just lost his footing but after looking closely there was contact at the back of his left heel. Having said all that, I'm suprised the referee gave it.

Yours was a penalty. The ball had not gone out when ALB made contact, although it was going out.

I'm 99% sure you'll go up and I can honestly say that when you played us at your place, you were the best side I've seen this season.

So as an outsider how can we start winning? It seems ages ago we did that...

Also, take it you guys are familiar with Lawrence? We had him in our end for the JPT game but he wasn't there last night...kind of missed him!!

He probably isn't I haven't stood in the Town End for a couple of seasons but what I remember about it is that you couldn't hear the Rink End from it even when it was full, from the side stands you can here both ends singing wise the away end often with 150 in the Rink End is louder than the Town End. Sad but true, I sit closer to the Town End as well.
