Feckin idiots have apparently been and fixed the problem in my area, was ok for an hour, now going off again, getting no sense out of the indian people on the phone, any ideas if they have any english workers, on the phones?

NTL are dogshit.

Bin them, I did, never had a problem since switched to Sky.

but as sky use bt lines isnt your speed down compared to nthell

I have no idea.

I don't understand these things very well.

My NTL broadband was down all day yesterday, I found out the TS26, TS25 areas had faults, I called NTL and first got through to a Pakistani bloke (put the phone down on him) then managed to get through to a Englishman, I explained that my computer was saying it had a excellent signal strength, he got me to do the usual procedures like unplugging my modem and router for 2 minutes then turning it all back on, it was no good, I still didnt have internet, so he got me to wire from my modem straight to my computer (bypassing the router) this worked, the guy on the phone said it is my router thats the problem? I set it all back up through my router again and switched the lot off for the rest of the night, turned it back on as usual this morning and vuala it was back on.

router wouldnt stop yo connecting to the internet especially if your ready light was flashing, sometimes your router can stop u connecting but all u need to do is reset your router

I had problems with my NTL yesterday, got through to a Welsh bloke and was on the phones ages for him to tell me that it's a problem with my PC, I rebooted and it's been working ok since then.

No problems from mine yesterday like

Mine has been infected by a virus that AVG didn't stop. I have just downloaded and installed the patch but can't reboot just yet to see if it worked.
