Despite it being the enemy I feel quite a lot of sympathy for what the bloke is trying to do, he seems to have genuine intentions and I wish him the best of luck.

One point that hasn't been mentioned is the over the top wages that some of the players are on. I think that given the "re-adjustment" that we are seeing in the banking sector it is high time that there was an appraisal of footballers wages, I see no reason why clubs should suffer whilst individuals appear to be insulated from the problems that many of us are encountering.

At the end of the day a football club is a commercial enterprise and has to make money - unless the owner is prepared to write off the losses that are incurred. Darlo fans can criticise their Chairman all they want but they are getting pitiful attendances anyway, even when they are in the top six and with low prices.

Moving to a stadium that is too big and too hard to get to for most fans obviously didn't help but if they don't turn out they might as well throw the towel in and sell-up. Come to watch Pools instead

That Stadium wil be the death of you.

Thats where the buck stops who want to go and watch a football match where the next bloke might be 20 seats away. You go to the game for the banter aswell as the match. They would be best selling up and moving back to feethams where at least there was some sort of atmosphere!

if the blokes running the show at lower league clubs start to pull the plug, then we'll have a lot of AFC (insert name here) teams springing up all over and starting again from scratch

I think the only reason George mark two has stayed for so long is cos he is off his rocker. The Madness of King George II.

If Darlo had stayed put at Feethams, they'd have been promoted now. Their sporting architectural folly has killed off the club ....... I'm just amazed there's still a hardcore of Darlo fans who believe having a carvery is a bigger aid to success than a decent atmosphere. I cannot begin to imagine it's like to be in a stadium that's only 10% full, it's the equivalent of Pools getting crowds of 600-700.
The place could eventually have a future and be full every weekend, but only if the paint it blue and yellow and IKEA take it over as a store.

ikea take it over that would be ironic considering it was a flat pack stadium was'nt it?

If we were in the top six of the fourth division we'd be regularly topping 5,000.

That's the most baffling thing, they are having a good season, yet still nobody turns up. It can only be the ground, the bloke is on a hiding to nothing.

It always makes me chuckle that this Sussex character often comments on attendances yet he never attends games himself, even when the lucky heather peddlers are playing in the South of England.

I think that's true PJ. If we were in the top six in League Two I would expect 4,500 minumum every week.
