I will presume, as this country does, that the named player is innocent until proved guilty

But simply because he rich and well known doesn't mean he is automatically innocent, which is what your doing. The facts are needed to be heard prior to that.

Regardless of stature in a community and wealth of the so called accused those facts need to be heard.

It could also be a possibility that anyone (not necessarilly this particular accused) who has money, and some sort of fame believes that any woman will "fall at his feet" and once turned down, acts in a totally unacceptable way.

Wait till you know all facts before automatically assuming it's the woman who is lying.

I, do believe though that both parties, both the accused and the accuser should remain un-named until the case has been heard, and then the accused only named if found guilty. It may be a malicious accusation (not necessarily in this case) but in any case and the man's life may well be ruined simply because of the stigma of what he been accused of.
