Matty Robson has had a few inconsistent games recently.

Today he did very well to skilfully cut inside a the penalty area....but then he skied his shot.

He was greeting to a chorus of criticisms.

For example....
"For fucks sake Matty get a grip"
"Back to the old fucking shite Matty"
"What the fucking hell was that Matty"
"total shite"

Etc

This seems to happen every time he makes a mistake.

Now I can get as frustrated as anyone on here so I'm probably not the best person to say this...

He did well to get himself in that position so he could shoot but he messed up. We all know that Robson is a confidence player and it does him no good to hear abuse every time he makes a mistake. We've all seen what he can do and he is intelligent enough to know when he's mucked up, he doesn't need reminding. It's not like he's lazy or he does it on purpose.

I believe that people have the right to air their views, but perhaps people can be more constructive.

If we all encourage him rather than chastise him, then we may just get better results from him.

It's only a couple of weeks that we were all raving about him.

When Ritchie has the ball, Matty isn't pushing upfield onto the opposition full back, & he also seems to have lost the confidence to take the full back on. Matty needs the ball in space, but he also needs to create more space for himself as at the moment he's sitting too deep when we start an attack. He also needs to find more consistency with his final ball, & I hope Danny's words are still ringing in his ears in that respect

How many left footed players do we have in our squad?

Maybe that is a reason that he needs to be starting games?
