The Poolie Bunker has sadly failed in my expectations as a football related chat forum. It only fulfills the needs for a select bunch of people who obviously know each other personally but cant be arsed to phone to discuss topics best used on the back page of a womans magazine.
I know Im a relative new comer and if this is what you want from the Bunker then who I am I to complain. But it does deserve a few seconds thought by the people who help run the site to think about a seperate room for non-related football chat to take place between people who need instant messaging to communicate and enjoy each others personal company or to slag each other off.

I think you're massively wrong.

If every thread on this forum was about Pools, it would be dull, dull, dull. There is only so much you can talk about.

The non Pools stuff is normally interesting, thought provoking, informative and humourous. It's very easy to be selective about the posts you read so you only read the ones that would interest you.

If you want to improve the quality why don't you start a few threads yourself rather than your current less than 1 post a week you're currently adding to the board. I'm sure you'd be largely impressed with the replies.

I agree with what TPP is saying. There is a button at the top right that is titled "View new posts" Click that to view new posts since you last visited and filter through whether you think its worth reading or not. If it is started by "Poolie of Kent" then its not worth reading if its titled "Mallard - Seaton" Its worth reading, Be it that its nowt to do with Pools

Motopool,
There is sometimes a bit of niggle goes on but you have the ability to ignore it and read the topics/posts you want. . . . .that's what I and nearly everyone else does I'm sure. In my opinion this is the best of the Pools message boards and I don't even visit the other ones any more, but as with all things you've got to accept the rough with the smooth. This board will never be all things to all men (or women!!).

And for the record I only know one person on this board and that's my Brother-in-Law!

I use the intotheblue message board and the bunker and the reason i enjoy the bunker is its off topic threads some are very amusing some are dull thats a message board.
i have had my arguments on here but at the end of the day we are all poolies and that is FACT.

I run intotheblue and visit here too. If you don't like it don't read it it's simple, I don't see the point in a post that says how bad it is because all you will do is invite argument and replies like this saying "well don't post then".

I only know a couple of people off here but we're all pools fans who come to places to talk about the team, the town and any other goings on. A seperate board for off topic would ruin the flow of many threads as a lot of them change subject half way through.

I recall Mr I making a post a while back which hit the nail right on the head, it said something along the lines of:

"A messageboard is simply a bit of software designed to allow people to post on it, it's the quality of the posts that makes the community"

If you've nothing to contribute then why make a fuss? If you have then get involved. As my favourite Meerkat would say "Simples"

Do you fancy a date with this one I found for you Mr PoK?.

Don't try to tell Frisbeekat that Ultimate Frisbee isn't real sport. It takes speed, agile limbs and ability to fight off dogs in park. At school, Frisbeekat was made fun of by football players, but who is laugh now?

This meerkat goes to Weston Super Mare to play slot machine and snog stranger outside closed beach bar or stand in middle of gigantic empty car park when feeling sickness of home in Kalahari.

I was the son of nitty Nora the head explorer. Well I still am but she's retired now. Didn't know til I was about ten and we got followed through town by a load of kids who kept pushing their mates in front of us while going, "Check him Nora".

Despite dropping the name on retirement her lice detection skills are still impressive.

Same here! I guess it takes all sorts!

All the same, this place reminds me of Pools, home and generally keeps me sane when stuck in the middle of the f**king desert!

If we ditch the Mallard threads then we're done for! Some of that stuff has me crying laughing!

The after match 'banter' is quality and the ratings after each game help give a real state of the team for us exiles.

Don't change a thing!

it's easy to forget that some folks live hundreds, or even thousands of miles away, and the rest of us at home take message boards like this for granted. In fact I would say there's a lot higher percentage of ex-pats in the message board community, than there is actual percentage of them amongst the entire Pools support.
It would be my first point of contact if I lived away, as to what is happening in the world of HUFC, and its zany supporters
