as either a player or manager?

Zola's arrival tomorrow got me thinking about who the best ever player to grace the Vic is.

Zola must be up there.
Beardsley?
Gazza?
Bergkamp?

First person to say Scott Sloan, Kona Hislop, Paul Wratten etc gets a slap!

I thought about Edwards, didn't realise Moore had ever been here.

Shilton must have been here at sometime too?

If Bergkamp has played there, it's a no brainer IMHO

I only have hearsay to go by and although he comes with a big reputation, I know of nothing to suggest Duncan Edwards was outstanding in that particular match.

So I'll go for Tony Currie. For all Pools' players got anywhere near him that night against Leeds they might as well have been playing at Grayfields.

Leeds certainly went to town that night, Currie was marvellous to watch. Arthur Graham and Eddie Gray also gave Pools a hard time

Chris Waddle was brilliant in both legs of our league cup tie against the Wendies. I think Gordon Watson and Danny Wilson were in that team as well.

Chris Waddle
Dennis Bergkamp
Alan Shearer (so good they painted him)
Jade Sinclair

Many people have suggested Bergkamp.

In the same team Tony Adams was awesome. Bloody awful man(ager) but superb world class defender.

In one of the cup ties against Arsenal I swear the every time the ball was lifted off the ground in the Arsenal half by pools, Adams then won the header.
