I did about four seasons without missing any games in the 90's (even that awful relegation season) but finances dictate that I can't do that any more, plus I don't use all my holidays from work/ sick days for footy like I did back then. I was there by hook or by crook, but it becomes a chore if you drive all the time like I used to. Even the seasons I didn't make every single game, I reckon I only missed one or two at most
There are a few Poolies who still do this, and probably haven't missed a game for years

when you have other committments and/or special occasions etc to attend, football has to take a back seat sometimes. I would avoid family gatherings etc, even my ex girlfriend went into hospital for an operation on the opening day of the season and I went mad because it clashed with football!
To my eternal shame I went to the match!! :uhoh: :uhoh: bbolt bbolt refred refred refred

I see things differently these days obviously, but I think we all go through a phase where our lives revolve completely around Pools.
After that phase passes, it only revolves around Pools about 75% of the time

From about the ages of 14-19 I attended every home game and at least half dozen away games a season, used to live for it and even took part-time jobs that allowed me to fit it in. When I moved to University it continued unabated until I had to get a job that meant I worked the occasional saturday, just one of those things. Last year got me back on track as my job and hours were brilliant and I missed only two or three home games and made a few aways. This year has been entirely different; financial constraints, my relocation to Carlisle, the fact that I have a Glasgow-based girlfriend who makes demands for my time and the amount of lesson-planning, marking and assignment writing that comes with being a trainee teacher means I haven't been to a home game since October. I occasionally go along and watch Carlisle just to satisfy some sort of fix but that's also rare. Priorities have changed for me already, and I'm only 22!
