do you think we should sell nelson for that money I am unsure, he shows moments where he has people in his pocket, like the stoke game, and then others were he is a bit of a liability but to be honest dont could we attract another defender as good as him to the club.

£120K for Boyd if that gets accepted its good buisness

It wasn't a question, hence the lack of a "?".

I'd love it if Boyd was to resign.
I can't see it happening but I'd love it.
Selling Nelson for almost twice the price we'd get Boyd for would be a great bit os business too.
Clark and Collins/New CB would be great, then we could resign Nelson in 3 years for 40k. clappp

Because, if I remember correctly, Pools have never spent that much on a player in 100 years.
Surely that makes it unlikely.
I'd still love it though clappp

if Nelson stays, one good thing is that the interest in him will hopefully give him a boost - and his performances will be up to the standards we know he can reach.

bugger giving him a boost, give him a pen and slip a new contract in front of him.

How come Pools do this time after time, i.e let the better players get in the position of walking away for free, because their contract has expired

p.s get him to lend the pen to Joel and get him sorted too

how many could we lose at the end of this season, Nelson, Joel and who else ?
if there is any truth in the rumours of a £200k bid for Nelson, isn't that justification enough

I know there are a few who we will be happy to lose, but (serious question) who else is out of contract at the end of the season ?

Joel has been wanting to go back to Aus for a while now and we've managed to keep him here despite this.
Nelson has always been a bit of a problem contractually and I seem to remember him handing a transfer request in a couple of years back.
Sometimes players want to move on, you can't force them to stay, you can either sell them early and cash in or keep them and let them go on a free.

if you read todays mail theres some very contradictory bollocks from turner about pools not discussing contracts with players until their current one expires i.e at the end of the season and if that means players like dimi and westwood leave without a fee so be it.

hasnt stopped them in the past like, e.g. james brown.

I thought 'we' didn't believe anything in the 'Bartlepool Snail'....

Agreed, if they can't be persuaded to re-sign, then cash in while you can (January)

Nelson is supposed to want to stay in the North East, for family reasons. Therefore, the right offer might persude him to stay.
Joel is supposed to want to leave for family reasons, however you read threads on here (from people who 'know' him) saying he hasn't signed for anyone and he's open to offers. Therefore, the right offer might persude him to stay.

If we do sell Nelson for £200k (and I still can't see him getting in the Leicester team) and Joel does go,
can you see us replacing the two of them for that sort of money.

I can see us replacing Nelse for that kind of cash, he only cost £90000 or so in the first place

one lad who shall remain nameless was doing the croggy in one of the daily nationals on a long trip down south, years ago.
He got stuck on one 7 letter word, which he said didn't fit.
South Atlantic sea bird (7).

Conversation between him and the front passenger went along these lines

Front seat passenger: "Penguin you daft c**t"!
Lad doing crossword: "I know, but it doesn't fit"!
Ist lad again: "How doesn't it fit"?
2nd lad: "It just doesn't"
Then we asked him to spell it
"P-E-N-D-W-I-N-G"

I wonder if he still attempts them these days

He does right. You should hear how they pronounce Rover, MG, Jaguar, Austin....
