Is quite good but it doesn't half make Saturday's boring. At least I can hope Luton do Darlow.

Friday night matches are getting to be similar to tuesday ones; we get lower attendances on a friday rather than a saturday, when they first started im sure it used to add an extra 1000 to the gate and the atmosphere always seemed to be better too. if u loose on a friday night it doesnt have make the weekend shite like.

Personally don't like Friday nights -- it does make Saturdays long ..... do clubs actually think of their fans having to travel on Friday? Northampton - both games this sesasdon have been on a Friday .... peoplke have to put half day holidays in, persuade the boss to let them leave early ... Southend coming up is a Friday - many regualr travellers have no chance of this one ... gates are now no bigger on a Friday than on Saturday - if they had been Saturday - the gates may have been boosted slightly by away fans.

taz taz NO MORE FRIDAYS!! taz taz

That just about sums it up nicely, further comment is superfluous.

To use Hartlepool and Northampton as an example (we played them twice on a Friday)

It comes down to expenditure, by playing on a Friday night we (and them when here) dont have to travel the previous day for a 3pm kick off mean saving on hotel/ coach expense for 2 days.

Both teams probably realise that the away support for both a Friday night and a Saturday afternoon kick off will be low. Therefore they probably save as much in expenses as they make from the away supporter when they make the reverse trip. hence playing Southend on a Friday as well they leave early friday play game return overnight. I think apart from the odd game ( International weekend) most Friday night games will involve a long trip.
