I've come to the conclusion there's absolutely no way of knowing in advance how a manager is going to fare at a club.

Scolari - great past record, but one more defeat in any competition and he'll have caught up with Grant already
Phil Brown - doing better than his previous record could ever have entitled one to expect
Neale Cooper - fookin' ace manager at Pools most of the time, catastrophic at Gillingham
Darren Ferguson - a complete shot in the dark by Posh (yes I know who his dad is) but doing all right there thank you very much

etc.

So my advice is just hire any old fookah, Ken.
