These two have at least restored some pride and give us some optomism for the remainder of the series. Its a shame that Colly's just got out in the 90's but at least his innings should mean that the Aussies should have to come to work tomorrow as there's only an hour to go now today. And hopefully tomorrow it won't bean easy day for them and KP will go on and hit a big ton or evan a double......

Ponting must be sick as fuck, if he'd enforced the follw on he probably wouldn't bei njured now and the match would be well over but he had to be clever...... I hope it pisses down so he looks like a complete 100% prize dickhead........

If we could scrape a draw (which I know is still a massive task) it would be absolutely excellent. NOTHING has gone right for us during this test, from the toss to the decisions to give KP and Freddie out, to the wayward bowling, team selections etc and all in all it's been a nightmare

Ponting is a little twat, I like the Aussie players generally, I can't help but love Shane Warne and Brett Lee comes across as a really nice guy in interviews but Ponting is a slug. Whats the state of play with his injury? I fell asleep about 2am and he still wasn't on the field then.

If we were 3 wickets down and not 5 we'd be fine and still have a small chance of salvaging something even if it is highly uinlikely. It's a true test of KP as a test player....

Fingers crossed that the pitch doesn't react to the new ball as it crumbles and bring on the thunderstorms!! I hope Ricky Ponting needs a spine replacement operation.

Big ask I know but grind one out England!! It'll break their hearts!!

I think the fact that we are 5 down means that the match is all but as has been said there are forcast to be thunderstorms in the afternoon.

I was disappointed that Freddie gave his wicket away shortly after I posted the origional message because the batsman semed to be fairly confident with Warne. The new ball is going to be a problem for KP and GJ but they must make the Aussies get them out rather get themselves out like what Andrew Strauss has done twice now.

On injuries, I don't think Ponting fielded at all during the day due to back pain. If he fails to recover it would be a massive blow for the Aussies. Glenn McGrath also bowled very little during the day because of a heel problem and certain people (Michael Slater) were concerned about his durability for such a tightly packed series.....
