Spurs won the FA Cup famously in odd years ending with 1...
1901
1921
1961
1981
1991

Is it me or do Pools seem to follow a similar pattern where they have managed in modern times to achieve something in odd years....

2009 - Giant-killing of Stoke in FA Cup.
2007 - Promotion to League One.
2005 - Reach League One Play Off Final.
2003 - Promotion to Old Division Two.
2001 - Reach Third Division Play Offs for second time.
1999 - Keep Football League Status (just), as Scarborough drop out and begin road to ruin.
then nothing really until...
1993 - Giant-killing of Crystal Palace in FA Cup.
1991 - Promotion to Old Division Three.

No, I just find it funny how we always seem to do something big when the year is odd.

Well, you get all sorts of useless statistics all the time - this one isn't going to do any harm if you just suggest it, will it?

Well actually I'm only thinking of large achievements in the last ten years - that way you could say the pattern does work.

We have seemed to do well in years starting with 200. sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

However in years starting with 19 we were almost consistently shite.

See, even Spender can spot it !

The pattern looks ridiculous, but you can't help but see that it is there.

Did anyone see the Comet over the vic on the night of the Swansea game in 68 - it also appeared in the skies of Hartlepool the night before the Northampton and walsall games

See, you could also see some sense in that it wasn't for the fact it didn't pass over around Rushden.
