'A number of premier league clubs will go out next round. If / when we beat Hartlepool we might have another easy tie. Come on you irons!'

'We play better away, we haven't lost in weeks away from home. Win by 2 or 3 goals. Easy peasy.

'Cheapest train is £70 return...

Still, those Northern birds are filthy'

Cold away day to a second division club who have already knocked 2 prem teams out of cup this year! Typical cup game that we wanted to avoid

Yeah but that's not strictly true is it ...they played Stokes second string and West Brom's second string in the Mickey Mouse Cup.

With our away form the way it is and the fact this is our only real oppotunity at any sort of success I would say this is a winnable tie although somewhat tricky.

Why does everyone who comes here from south of the Tees think it is cold up here sctatchinghead

Noticed someone mentioning about how we only beat Stokes 'reserves'. Not mentioning the injury list and injuries we had in the first half  . I stopped reading there, they even had the nerve to moan in the thread at how the big 4 are perceived and they get unfair treatment, then try to dish it out to us.

I hope they come here with the attitude we'll be a walkover, then see how good they are without half of their first team squad.

"Seriously though, this is one of those games that comes with a label, and that label is "Potential banana skin." I have no doubts about that and I'm not going to underestimate Hartlepool at all.

A draw at their gaff and then get them back to the Boelyn on a Wednesday night."

Well...our home form hasn't been great but there's no atmosphere like the Boelyn for a Wednesday night F.A Cup replay...and it's very intimidating for the opposition.

Even worse is the quote from some Poolie saying that he estimates they will get 1500.

Has this "Poolie" ever been to the Vic?

Time for Elvis and others more knowledgeable than me, but in my memory since the Rink End seats went in, only Preston have been given more than that (in a competitive game). Any others?

West Ham will get the Rink End & the 900-odd it holds. End of.

well if Millwall and West Ham both come to the North East on the same day for their respective ties, their numbers might be reduced somewhat by the time they get here

Its up to West Ham how much they want as they can have up 25% of the overall capacity, although police may stop that

That was me on a seperate forum, i didnt 'estimate' i said at max you will get 1500. If, like the club did for stoke and offer part of the millhouse ( correct me if im wrong on that ) then im sure they will do the same for West Ham. Only 4500 poolies turned up yesterday, now i hope we sell out for this game but im not sure we will, and we need to capitilise on as much money through the gate we can get and if only 5500 poolies want turn up ill happily take money from West Ham fans if it means we get a sell out.

Well, that Preston game I mentioned was on 27/4/96, when Preston won Div 3 and we finished bottom half, attendance 5076.

If I remember correctly, they were given all of the Mill House as well as the Rink End, but given our crowds of 2K ish in that period, then it made a certain amount of financial sense.

The games other people mention I'm not able to quote from.

There have been plenty of other games with large away followings where the opposition have been given no more than the Rink End (including cup ties) & I am 100% certain that will be the case here. Plus the club will be more confident of getting close to selling out for this game after a weekend of publicity.

It would cause too much bother for the rozzers to segregate & police if it were any other way.

West Ham will get 974 odd Tickets for the Rink End and that will be it!!!! confised
