I'd be more confident if Duncan Fletcher wasn't stuffing the team with cronies.

If Duncan Fletcher managed the England Football Team.....

David James would be preferred to Paul Robinson because he's got better technique, is better in the dressing room, gets his defenders going etc and that makes up for the mistakes he makes.

Gary Neville would be dropped because he doesn't score enough goals and needs to work on that aspect of his game.

Wayne Rooney would be dropped in favour of Teddy Sheringham because we need someone with his experience to hold things up.

I have a feeling that this one is only gonna get worse, no doubt the aussies will pile on about 600 runs and beat us by an innings. Is there any rain forcast for Brisbane...? Can we get out of this one with a draw?

The pitch is extremely flat, the humidity isn't as high as it usually is so it isn't even swinging. We bowled very poorly in the first ten overs though totally wasted the new ball and in Australia it inly stays new for about ten overs. We've got to back ourselves to bat as well on it and go to Adelaide 0-0.

If we can't get 'em out we need to keep the run rate down and then stick at the crease as long as poss. I'm really glad we aren't depending on Marcus Trescothick to do that.
