Back of the Mirror this morning. Steve Howey applied for the managers job and wants to bring dean windass with him as player/coach. Anybody think this is true? and do you like the sound of it?

I thought he tried and failed at his attempt to make it as a manager (crook town??), I would however not be too upset if Dean Windass joined as a player, even at his age he has proved he is still fit and has a good eye for goals.

It's certainly a wild card but no more so than, for example, IOR's choice of Newell and Misery Guts.

Mmm, thats a tricky one tbh. Without any knowledge of Howeys 'management' experience, it looks a like a huge gamble to me. Having said that I think we are in danger of relegation this season anyway regardless of who takes charge if all the talk re lack of funds is true. Maybe we could see if they can keep us up and offer a longer contract as a result. if we get relegated then give someone else a go
