Danny Wilson has been a poor manager since winning promotion from Division 2.

Everyone may moan about us being a small club and unable to compete at the same level as Leeds/Leicester/Notts Forest but lets review his decisions post Div2.

He bought 2 goalkeepers who would have difficulty holding a place in the blue square. Both Weymouth and Coventry supporters came on here to warn us. Lets me say again, not 1 but 2 poor goalkeepers.

He signed Ali Gibb, Andy Monkhouse, Jamie Mccunnie, Willie Boland, Gary Liddle, Sam Collins, Richard Barker, Godwin Antwi. He then has the nerve to tell us our poor performances were down too the players relegated under Scott/Stephenson.

He has never failed to amaze me with his lack of knowledge. How many time have we all said " WE NEED A LEFT BACK/FULL BACK" Oh yes he bought a FULL BACK and played him midfield. Wait we had the club captain last year on an extended one year contract. He played how many times? We could all rely on the one footed Antwi who was just dreadful, well a little better at full back than centre half. Richie is a great squad player but we NEED a left back!

Ok we move onto this season 2008/2009. Wilson signed 2 Midfielders, an area we are really short. He playes a Midfielder right back. No left back. Lets Barker leave and replaces him with Kyle(till Jan)! Brown is injured and we have Mckay and Foley waiting in the wings. Oh please! We have no depth, No ideas and our back four leak more than the Titanic. Sam Collins cannot forma partnership with Nelson. Nelson has never been dropped and gets a game every week.

No new young blood. Rowell this weekend was only a necessity, not a Wison having a bold game plan. We have been poor all season, got lucky against a few teams and I cannot see us staying up.

I would have got rid of Wilson last year, cannot condone the timing but sorry people no tears have been shed.

Wilsons may be a good lower league manager but that league is blue square or league 2.

Good post but sweeney has been class at right back to be fair.

I agree that playing sweeney at right back is a good decision - he was struggling big style before he was changed to that role....

Sweeney IS our best attacking midfield player, however, he doesnt seem to be able to form a partnership like he had with tinks.

Since he has been moved to right back he hasnt done a bad job to be fair to him, but I would like to see a decent right back come in and Sweens back in the middle where he belongs.

Who knows now Turner is back at teh helm, maybe the young guns will be bled through again!!

Turner played Istead at 16, he has no problems in playing the 'bairns'.

Of those only McCunnie,Collins & Antwi were signed after division 2.Antwi is possibly the worst choice of the last 10 years but McCunnie & Collins were both looking good & may still have something to offer under a different manager.
Ali Gibb has been pretty much irrelevant,but Monkhouse,Boland,Liddle & Barker were god signings & did a good job.I believe Liddle & Monkhouse will again do a good job.
Danny Wilson may have made some strange decisions & some less than wonderful signings but not all the time.

i'd second that too. put the dug outs where the working class fans are, not the toffs with money in the posh seats. (do we have toffs at pools hahaha).

maybe now turner is in charge (even though only temp) he might solve our goalkeeping problem seeing as he used to be a top goalkeeper himself!

I said this yesterday..it's virtually a given that they WILL.

He's going to have very little option not to do so.
